A collaborative research project between the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, officially titled "Evaluating Environmental Benefits of Growing Hemp with Biosolids." Using Flura seed, it tests industrial hemp grain and fiber production under Class A biosolid amendment against a standard urea control.

The first harvest and analysis were completed in late 2025. The trial will be replicated in 2026 to validate results and support peer-reviewed publication.
